Welcome the Orchestra of Jewish music directed by Lev Feldman (Chernivtsi, Ukraine) at Gala-Concert
This wonderful orchestra with its energizing leader Lev Feldman, who is also called “dancing director”, is well remembered by the audience of last year LvivKlezFest: they opened the Festival with the concert in Italian courtyard.
This orchestra is one of the oldest Jewish music groups that actively perform in nowadays. It was created in 2000 (originally on the basis of All-Ukrainian Jewish Charitable Foundation “Hesed-Shushana”). Yet the first years of its existence the group won Grand-Prix at All-Ukrainian festival “Sholom, Ukraine!” for several years running; later on it gave concerts in Poland, Romania, Germany, Austria; released an album and 3 CDs named “Joy from Chernivtsi” (Frejlachs aus Czernowitz).
Lev Fledman is the winner of Literature and Art regional award of S.Vorobkevych, director, musician, and the best-loved teacher at Art College (Chernivtsi) who brought up 100 graduates for 40 years.
This year Orchestra of Lev Feldman will participate at Gala-Concert “Mazl Tov!” that takes place on Rynok Square the final day of the Festival – the 10th of June. It will perform a number of traditional Jewish music peaces in special Chernivtsi-style arrangement, among them the hit “Hava Nagila” dedicated to the 70-th Anniversary of the State of Israel.
